This market resolves YES if Eskom declares any stage of national load-shedding, of any duration, at any point during the calendar month. It resolves NO in every other case.
Settles from: Eskom official load-shedding announcements published on the Eskom website and verified Eskom channels (https://www.eskom.co.za/power-system-status/). Closes 2026-11-02 10:00 SAST. Decided 2026-11-02 22:00 SAST. Any stage counts, and any duration counts, a single hour of Stage 1 resolves this YES. Load reduction, municipal outages, planned maintenance and localised network faults are excluded; only nationally declared load-shedding counts. As at early August 2026 South Africa had passed 200 consecutive days without load-shedding and Eskom had forecast a stable winter, so the base rate here is low.
