Will the petrol price go up in November 2026?

The petrol price is reset at the start of every month by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, driven by the oil price and the rand. Any increase at all resolves this Yes.

How this settles

This market resolves YES if the announced adjustment to the inland pump price of 95 unleaded petrol effective in the reference month is an increase of one cent per litre or more. It resolves NO in every other case.

Settles from: Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources official fuel price adjustment media statement (https://www.dmpr.gov.za/Services/Petroleum-Resources/Fuel-Prices). Closes 2026-12-03 06:00 SAST. Decided 2026-12-03 18:00 SAST. The change is measured against the immediately preceding published inland pump price for 95 unleaded. Only the officially announced adjustment is used; forecourt discounting and retailer promotions are irrelevant.

When this is cancelled instead

If any of the following happens, the question is voided and every stake goes back. It scores for nobody either way.

No fuel price adjustment media statement is issued for the reference month within 14 calendar days of the scheduled effective date; The inland pricing zone or the 95 unleaded grade is discontinued such that no adjustment figure is published for it; The regulated fuel price mechanism is suspended for the reference month

Think this reads two ways? and we will tighten the wording or void it.
